The Problem with KaZaA Setup

Pay very, very close attention to the KaZaA installation, or you will have software that you don't want (often called "ad-ware" or "spy-ware").  If you're given the choice, choose Custom Setup.  UNCHECK EVERYTHING BUT KAZAA MEDIA DESKTOP!  YOU DO NOT NEED "BONZI BUDDY", "Save! Now", or anything else.  Spy-ware  is known to do one or more of the following:

• Reformat your Hard drive
• Steal private info (like your credit card number)
• Deliver unwanted, and downright annoying ads (similar to what Lycos is doing with these pop-ups)

• Webhancer

Due to the nasty results of these spy-ware programs (especially SaveNow), I refuse to offer 3rd party spy-ware.  According to News.com's report (see link above), SaveNow is quite buggy, and is known to crash slower (56k or slower is my guess) connections.  To verify this, always pay close attention to installations.  With all installation software, I recommend that, if given the chance, always choose Custom Setup.  Also, read the readme files and license agreements.  Hopefully, you'll learn if there's spy-ware in the program you're downloading.  I WILL NOT OFFER SPY-WARE IN MY PROGRAMS, BECAUSE I DON'T NEED THE MONEY!
